Last week we posted an announcement for a new game on Kickstarter called Dark Skyes, a dating sim that takes place in the world of My Little Pony (MLP from this point on).
Referred to as a “Brony dating sim,†the game would let adult fans of the magical pony world date, seduce, and do who knows what else with a wide variety of beautifully drawn ponies.
When you hear about a major You Tuber making a game, you probably expect the game to be about... There is precedence for this after all, with Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures and Pew Die Pie: Legend of the Brofist having popular Internet idols self-insert themselves into the media they cover.
Game Grumps, however, decided to tke a different approach with their first foray into the game making world, by taking the focus off them and making a dad dating dads visual novel.
Dream Daddy has an interesting premise, but did Game Grumps make a good dating simulator?
Having just moved across town to a cul-de-sac, a dad (that's you) and his teenage daughter must work to make some new friends.
Dream Daddy gives you a choice of seven fetching fathers to attempt to romance, and uses the hit social media site Dadbook to track your budding Dad friendships. The bad news is, if funding fails, we plan on pitching the finished game to publishers, a process... We've been having trouble bringing the alpha into playable shape in time for the end date of this Kickstarter. The Internet is certainly a miraculous creation but there are times when we see truly horrific things that it’s enabled that make us wish we could burn the Internet down and salt over its ashes. You'll need an HTML5 capable browser to see this content. Case in point: A new Kickstarter project called Dark Skyes that aims to be the world’s first brony dating simulation game. we were really hoping that we wouldn't have to release any actual visuals until the game was up to our own high standards, but because of this trolling/scam campaign nonsense we have been forced to put something together to show you guys....The world of Summon Night: Swordcraft Story is more or less governed by Craftlords. Your character's father (three years deceased) was a Craftlord, and of course, you want to follow in his footsteps, despite knowing very little about him.Easier said than done, as there's a very extensive test to determine who becomes Craftlord - a huge tournament where you can only use the weapons you make yourself. They're perfectly legal for a tournament and give you an edge, so why not?
